Each year at least one parent per classroom volunteers to be their child's room parent to coordinate with the teacher in providing classroom support and communication as needed.  Some of the duties may include being a chaperone for a field trip, coordinating and/or helping with classroom parties, or checking out library books for the classroom to enhance learning.  The room parent is also the contact person for the class to facilitate communication about PTF activities and classroom needs; to help new families feel welcome and informed; and to coordinate parent involvement with PTF activities and fundraisers like Springfest.
